Client Brief
Ysgol Casmael wanted to create a commemorative World War 1 scrapbook style book which featured the work of the children of Ysgol Casmael to include their beautiful drawings, poems and writings on life in World War 1. The book was supported and co-written by local historian Richard Davies.
Results
The book, printed as a soft cover booklet, was designed to take on the resemblance of a well loved hardback scrapbook tied together with string.
I worked closely with the teachers who wanted the book to feel hand crafted and a feast for the eyes with photos, drawings and real objects incorporated into the design.
Execution
The children’s drawings blended into textured paper, aged distressed photos and textured papers with paper clips and pins combined give the book a real scrapbook feel and bring the book to life.
The history book was launched as part of the school’s commemorative World War 1 project and filmed on Heno S4C.
